Rainier Beach Street Median Sod Removal
Rainier Beach, Seattle, WA
Kolmo Construction, a Seattle-area general contractor, stripped the sod from a planted street median in the Rainier Beach neighborhood of Seattle for Seattle Parks Foundation's Waters Median Project in October 2026, preparing the ground for a community native-habitat planting. The crew removed the turf and the top few inches of soil across two median sections, about 11,600 square feet, working around the young street trees already planted along the median. A skid steer loaded the material straight into a dump trailer parked on the median, and the loads were hauled off site for disposal. Because the median is public right-of-way, the work ran under a Seattle Department of Transportation street-use permit and its conditions: no start before 9 a.m. and no cut deeper than four inches. A flagger and cones kept the adjacent lane open to traffic while the loader worked along the curb. The work finished inside the permit window and left bare soil ready for native seeding.

Renton Police Department Renovation — Renton City Hall
Renton City Hall, Renton, WA
Kolmo Construction, a Seattle-area general contractor, renovated the Renton Police Department's space at Renton City Hall for the City of Renton, as the prime contractor on a public works contract awarded through the MRSC Small Works Roster. The department kept operating throughout, so the work ran on night shifts, and every crew member passed a background check before the first shift. The crew moved, tagged and protected the furniture and contents, took down and logged the wall-mounted items, patched the walls and repainted them with accent walls in the City's blue, and sanded and repainted the wooden handrail in place. At the City's request, added by change order, the crew removed the conference room's base and upper cabinets and repaired the wall behind them. The old carpet was pulled up and hauled away, and new carpet tile went down in the offices, the conference room, the corridor and the stair landing, with new vinyl cove base and a new walk-off mat at the exterior door. The night shifts ran from September 8 into early October.

Pharmacy Sales Floor Remodel — Seattle
Seattle, WA
Kolmo Construction, a Seattle-area general contractor, remodeled the sales floor of a neighborhood pharmacy in northeast Seattle while the store stayed open. The crew demolished the old pegboard gondola shelving, did the patching it left behind, and set 27 new slatwall floor merchandisers on the sales floor. The merchandisers arrived crated, so Kolmo received the delivery at a staging space a block away, uncrated and sorted every unit, and assembled each one complete with its frame, aluminum inserts, shelves and casters. The finished units were moved into the store and set in their final positions, and the old shelving and all the crates, pallets and packaging were hauled away for disposal. The work ran during store hours and at odd hours, scheduled around the pharmacy's business, with no disruption to customers.

North Kirkland Community Center Deck
North Kirkland Community Center, Kirkland, WA 98034
Kolmo Construction, a Seattle-area general contractor, replaced the front entrance deck at the North Kirkland Community Center for the City of Kirkland, on a small works contract with the City's Facilities team. The old 22-foot deck came out complete, and a new 12-by-11-foot platform went in, centered on the entrance and aligned to the sidewalk ramp: new piers, posts and three beam lines, ground-contact joists at 12 inches on center with flashing on the top-facing framing, and a gray non-slip composite surface on stainless-steel hidden fasteners. A permanent wood fall-protection guardrail runs 22 feet 6 inches along the two open sides, and the existing uplighting was put back in service. The deck was built in two days, August 31 and September 1, 2026, while the center was closed, under a City of Kirkland building permit.

Renton City Hall Office Repaint
Renton City Hall, Renton, WA
Kolmo Construction, a Seattle-area general contractor, repainted office space at Renton City Hall for the City of Renton in August 2026, as the prime contractor on a public works contract awarded through the MRSC Small Works Roster. The crew protected the floors, baseboards and furniture, patched and repaired the walls, and repainted them in the City's standard color with four accent colors the City selected. Door frames were refinished, a conference-room soffit was painted on both faces, and a metal handrail was taken down, refinished to match the door trim and put back. The work ran on day shifts from August 19 to August 31. After a final clean the furniture went back in place, and the City accepted the work as complete.

Warehouse Restroom Rebuild — Everett
Everett, WA
Kolmo Construction, a Seattle-area general contractor, rebuilt the restroom inside a commercial warehouse in Everett as part of restoring the building after a fire. The old floor came up to the slab, the new room was laid out on the floor in tape, and the plumbing was roughed in for the new fixtures. New walls went up on that layout, and the open ceiling, where conduit had hung loose, was closed in with recessed lights and an exhaust fan. The finished room is a single-user restroom with large-format gray floor tile and a matching base, stainless grab bars on the back and side walls, a wall-hung sink, a new toilet and lever-handle door hardware.
