Composite Deck Resurfacing — Seattle
On this Seattle upper deck, the old wood boards had weathered gray and worn through in patches. We stripped them and hauled them away, checked the frame while the deck was open, and kept it. New composite boards went down on hidden fasteners, with a divider board breaking up the long run. When the structure underneath is sound, the deck does not have to be rebuilt to get a new surface.
Composite Deck Board Replacement — Bellevue
In Bellevue, an existing raised deck received a comprehensive resurfacing. We carefully removed the old decking, prepped the underlying structure, and installed homeowner-supplied composite deck boards. Precision installation included hidden fasteners, adherence to manufacturer specifications for material warranty, and a refined mitered picture-frame border.
Arched Entryway Drywall and Paint — Federal Way
Kolmo Construction closed in a covered arched entryway at a Federal Way, WA home where the framing and OSB sheathing had been left exposed. The crew cut and fit moisture-resistant board to both arched openings, wrapped the returns, and set corner bead on every outside corner, then taped, finished and sanded the radius smooth. Primer and two coats of paint took the entry from bare sheathing to a clean charcoal archway framing the flagstone walkway and cedar ceiling.
Garage Conversion to a Finished Room — Olalla
Kolmo Construction converted a garage in Olalla, Kitsap County, WA, into a finished, insulated room with new drywall, a framed ceiling, ventilation windows and LVP flooring. The building stayed and the inside was rebuilt. The old wall sheetrock, ceiling and sink came out, and the open garage side was framed in and closed off to the roofline. The exterior walls were insulated, and about 700 square feet of wall drywall was hung, taped, textured and painted. The new framed ceiling has an access hatch to the storage space above it, and both sloped roof planes were drywalled and painted. About 480 square feet of LVP went down over the prepped slab, and a new sink and faucet were connected to the existing water and drain lines.
Trex Railing Replacement — Upper Deck & Stairs
This project involved a complete transformation of the upper deck and stairs with a new Trex railing system. The existing aluminum-and-glass railing was carefully removed and disposed of, followed by thorough surface repair and sealing at each post location. The new Trex railing was then installed to code, providing enhanced safety and a refreshed aesthetic for the outdoor living space.
Front Yard Retaining Wall — Seattle
This project involved the expert construction of a new front-yard retaining wall. Designed to enhance the property's curb appeal, the wall also provides essential slope management and creates a more defined, functional outdoor space.
